German class trip
last week the German Class of 08 went on a trip to the far away land of kansas city. (actually it only took us about 4 hours to get there but i have to make it sound as adventuresome as possible) we got there around 3 pm and checked into our motel rooms and then everyone got ready to go to the german restaurant. we had carefully planned and even gone on a shopping trip and we all had matching clothes. that is the guys all had matching shirts and the girls all had matching dresses. (or as close to matching as possible) since it was still quite early in the afternoon we visited the Arabian Steamboat museum before we went to eat. we had a jolly time walking around in the museum and looking at all the stuff (and believe me there was a LOT) that had been on the ship when it disappeared into the "mighty Mo" over a hundred years before it was once again discovered. we spent over an hour in there an i think the workers were relieved to see us leave because once we left they left too. funny how that works. ;) next on the agenda was to go eat the Rheinland Restaurant (i think that was the name) we drove for what seemed like a long time but it actually wasn't all that far. The food was great and I don't think anyone suffered to much from trying any of the new food which really most of the food wasn't so different from what we are used to. The smoked salmon was prob the most different and there were various opinions on whether it was edible. as for myself i thought it was delicious!!
here are some random pictures from the restaurant:

(i'm not sure what's with all the straws but.....it looks cool so who cares!)

something must have been funny!!

much better!! :) from left to right-Sheila Graber, Kenneth Shenk, Jared Shetler, Frieda Kuepfer, Tim Yoder, Ida Yutzy, Ryan Nisly, and Sheila Ropp. (Our teacher Mr. Schrock(Wesely Schrock) and his wife, Jeanann, were also along. )
that evening we went downtown and walked around at some shopping center. it was way cool seeing all the lights and all the interesting people who were also walking around.

we spent some time at barns and nobles and then ate ice cream at the coldstone creamery but since my camera batteries died i don't have any more pictures of that night. the next morning we went to union station and walked around there for a while. i had an absolutely amazing truffle!! so yeah it was like really really good. for some reason i don't really have any good group pictures from when we were there....maybe its cause we didn't take any good group pictures....well here are just a few other cool pictures

we also stopped in at the WW1 museum but since we didn't have very much time we only went to the tower part of the museum. the tower was really cool. we could like see the whole city!!

as u can imagine, things got pretty wild on the way home!!! but hey at least we had fun!!! and we didn't really talk about much except for......cars......lol

here are a few more random pictures from the trip (like i don't have enuf pictures already)

ryan and his beloved toenail clippers!!!

awwwww!!! (puke)
German class of 08 is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since someone so graciously did a guest post for me, i thot wow! i shud do a guest post for my sister since she hardly ever updates. but that's cus i steal all her pictures so she can't post ne of the pictures she takes so she's like- what's the point of posting if i can't put on any of the pictures i took. well i kinda must agree with her but that's why every individual in this state of america should have a government sponsored camera all to themselves so they could post pictures on their blogs and people would say-WOW! those are really cool pictures! but i guess i kinda got off the subject since this post is gonna be about the 4 most randomest things i can think of. and after you have read it all then there's a surprise waiting for you at the end. but just cus u already looked at the end now then i'm having second thots about writing about the suprise. that's the problem with americans these days. they try to skip all the gory parts to get to the 'surprise' at the end. but instead they should read the whole thing and then read the surprise once they get to it! ok the 4 things i'm gonna talk about are...school, weddings, sleeping, and random..
SCHOOL-
it's kinda sad but we only have 3 1/2 more weeks of school. i guess the saying 'time flies when ur having fun' is now enacting itself. but yeh it's kinda sad cus we won't get to see people every day besides the weekends and stuff. isn't it funny how your moods towards people can change depending what they're wearing. for example if someone is wearing clothes that i just don't like then i don't feel all that happy toward them but if i don't mind their outfit then i feel a lot more happy towards them. i guess this cud be called judgmental but really it's not, cus i know alot of the people so it's just kinda being judgmental for a day or so at a time.
WEDDINGS-
aren't weddings such a strange thing? why can't people just go to the court house and get married in the presence of God and the judge?[wait, is that what they call eloping?] but no! no not at all! they have to go make this big fuss out of it and invite everyone from Here to There and plus everyone in Between. and the food- they go all out to make the most bizarre stuff they can think of like salad and corn. why not just have pizza and chips and peanut butter pie? [i like peanut butter pie alot]..i think it's cus of TRADITION!!!tradition basically forces peeople to do things they wudn't otherwise do.
SLEEPING-
i figured out that some nights i sleep just as long as the school day. now americans!!, what is wrong with this picture!? something is terribly wrong. sleeping is a waste of time. kinda. and who says we have to sleep at night time? (well, my parents i guess) why in the world can't we sleep in the day time? who says this? TRADITIION! once again...]] i think night time is a lot nicer then daytime cus at nightime the stars are pretty nice and it often rains at nightime. and during the day all we get is Wind!! [at least in kansas]. and night time in general is just way cooler. except for a lot of crime happens during the night so that's not so cool. but see if everyone was awake at nigh time then not as many people wud get away with robbery or kidnapping. that's why i like staying up as late as possible.. so noone tries stealing our house or something.
RANDOM-
ok now for the suprise that i told you would come later and that u already looked at that u weren't supposed to look at... the surprise is... if u read this then ur automatically tagged to write a blog post about the 4 most randomest things you can think about. i think that's kinda clever to throw surprises like that at people when they are expecting it the very least! don't you just hate people who use bad grammar? i think it can get kinda annoying. but my! do i ever love using the worstest grammer possible! it gives me a sense of power that i'm annoying people.
THE END.. so since u read this part right here then be shure to leave my sister lotsa comments and be shure to wish her a happy TIME-4-GARDENING-IN-KANSAS-DAY. esp. since she hates working in the garden. she wud prolly like you for it. at least i wud. hmm.. choose you this day whom you wish to please, maybe?

~Missing someone isn't about how long it's been since you've seen them last or the amount of time since you've talked. It's about that very moment when you're doing something, and you wish, you wish that they were right there with you.
